PRE ORDER - Gag Manga Biyori GO - Shotoku Taishi figure, Noodle Stopper

Shotoku Taishi appears in Gag Manga Biyori GO, a series that twists historical, cultural, and absurd references into a fully offbeat comedy style. In this universe, characters are often reduced to exaggerated attitudes, improbable reactions, and deliberately ridiculous staging, which is exactly what gives the series its charm. This official 15 cm PVC figure by FuRyu, part of the Noodle Stopper line, captures that tone by presenting Shotoku Taishi in a seated pose that is simple at first glance but immediately comedic.

In Gag Manga Biyori GO, the appeal of the character does not come from a heroic or solemn image, but from the contrast between a familiar historical identity and the way it is transformed by the series’ absurd humor. This version reflects that spirit very well by showing a frozen moment that may seem ordinary at first, yet whose posture and expression instantly suggest a scene meant to feel strange, awkward, or ridiculous on purpose. The Noodle Stopper format works especially well here because it further emphasizes the feeling of a small gag moment captured right in the middle of an odd reaction or situation.

Visually, Shotoku Taishi is shown sitting on the edge of a support, with both legs hanging down in the compact posture typical of the line. He wears a plain blue tracksuit with a light-colored front zipper, paired with simple sandals that strengthen the intentionally everyday look of the piece. His hands are raised in front of his face, as if covering his eyes or reacting in embarrassment, while his black hairstyle is topped with a vertical purple accessory. The overall silhouette stays very clean, with few unnecessary details, which places even more focus on the character’s attitude. Its seated pose makes it easy to display on a shelf, desk, or on the edge of a support.
