PREORDER - Formation Z - GM²I Ixpel figure, Plastic Model Kit

Ixpel, the transforming robot from the video game Formation Z, joins Sentinel's GM²I line with this 15 cm plastic model kit. Inspired by the side-scrolling shooter developed by Jaleco, this model recreates the famous mecha with an updated design by Kanetake Ebikawa. Its blue, white and gray armor, mechanical proportions and beam cannon retain the distinctive features of the original robot. The kit allows both Land Formation and Air Formation configurations to be recreated using interchangeable parts.

In Formation Z, an arcade game released in 1984 and later adapted for home consoles, players control Ixpel, a combat robot capable of transforming into a fighter jet to battle enemy forces. Switching between its ground and aerial forms is one of the game's main mechanics, allowing movement and attacks to be adapted to different situations. This model kit marks the first release in Sentinel's GM²I line, dedicated to iconic robots from classic video games. Ixpel's design has been refined by Kanetake Ebikawa, giving it sharper mechanical lines while preserving both transformation modes. The kit includes the robot in its ground configuration, a 105 mm beam cannon, a dedicated right hand for holding the weapon, an alternative left hand, interchangeable parts for the aerial configuration and a sticker sheet.

The model depicts Ixpel in its humanoid form, featuring a slender silhouette and armor composed of blue, white and gray panels. Its head has a green visor, a small central antenna and protective side sections, while its torso features rectangular vents and several yellow and red details. Its large shoulders are accompanied by mechanical components extending upward toward the back, and its articulated arms allow it to hold the long blue cannon. The legs feature wide angular armor panels, reinforced knees and elongated feet resembling aircraft components. The interchangeable parts allow the model's structure to be modified, changing its appearance from a robot into an aerial fighter.
