Get ready to assemble the Bulkarm Glanz Redalert, a model from the Hexa Gear series by Kotobukiya, which embodies power and technological innovation. This 1/24 scale plastic model kit, standing 180mm tall, is a faithful representation of the mecha designed by Maxwell Gears, a third-party company renowned for its experimental advancements in weaponry.
The Bulkarm Glanz is a unique addition to the Bulkarm series, often considered a Generation 2.5 model due to its many advanced experimental weapons. This model reaches the limits of humanoid heavy machinery, regardless of its capabilities as a weapon. It was ridiculed during test operations, called a "waste of money and technology" and "barely fit to be a weapon" due to its hobbyist appearance reminiscent of classic comic books. However, it also demonstrated unprecedented mobility for a second generation machine, thanks to its rolling equipment which was not present in the original model.
The kit includes between 201 and 400 parts made from phthalate-free PS, PE, ABS and PVC, providing a detailed and immersive building experience. With joints that allow for dynamic posing and a fully closable cockpit that can accommodate a Governor model sold separately, this kit is a mecha enthusiast's dream.
Redalert is the nickname given to one of the few surviving Bulkarm Glanz Hexa Gears, customized to match its Governor's fighting style. The main unit's fiery red color embodies an unwavering fighting spirit, which may seem a little inappropriate on the battlefield where lives are at stake. However, the red is actually a special coating applied to offset the armor lighter and weaker.
This kit is a tribute to the new era of Governors capable of mastering these machines. Nicknamed the “Steel Giant,” the model was sent into combat under the guise of an engineering test. Its heroic appearance and improved performance over the second generation Hexa Gears of the time attracted a lot of attention, eventually leading to the creation of numerous replicas and imitations by Governors and investors eager to develop machines heavy humanoids.
