Mobile Police Patlabor - Pack figures Hercules 21 & Cardia, Plastic Model Kit Moderoid

In Mobile Police Patlabor, the world of Labors isn’t limited to the most famous police units: it also includes more “field” machines built with practical, heavy-duty intent, sometimes almost industrial in how they’re conceived. Hercules 21, with its compact utilitarian build, fits that lineup of machines designed to take hits and operate on the ground, while the small Cardia units read as support pieces deployed around a main body. These official plastic models are offered as a Moderoid Plastic Model Kit by Good Smile Company at 1/60 scale, measuring about 13 cm for Hercules 21 and about 1.5 cm for Cardia.

Patlabor often treats machinery as working tools first, with designs that feel like they exist for a specific job before they ever become “heroes.” Hercules 21 carries that exact vibe: a robust, heavy-engagement Labor meant to hold position, push through, secure, and move without frills. The Cardia parts amplify the operational feel, as multiple small units that can surround, assist, or complete the setup, turning the display into a small intervention scene rather than a single static pose.

Visually, Hercules 21 is finished in a sand/khaki tone, with a darker inner frame visible at the joints, especially in the arms. The shoulders are wide and dotted with multiple round perforations, and the compact head shows a single red eye at the front. The torso is bulky and rounded with layered mechanical panels, and the forearms end in claw-like hands. The legs are short and heavy, with large armor shells and very wide feet that reinforce the grounded look. Beside it, Cardia appears as small red four-legged units with a very low profile, a rounded shell, and front “claw” shapes; one display note: you can easily place several Cardia units around Hercules 21 to suggest an active deployment on a shelf.
