The players of The Prince of Tennis II join MegaHouse’s Irusuta Vol. 2 collection as acrylic character stands. This display contains six blind boxes, each holding a character approximately 8.5 cm tall to discover upon opening.
This second volume brings together players from three rival schools: Fuji from Seigaku, Yukimura, Niou and Kirihara from Rikkai, and Shiraishi and Chitose from Shitenhoji. In this sequel to Takeshi Konomi’s original story, the young players attend Japan’s U-17 selection camp, where they test their ambitions and abilities against experienced high school opponents.
The illustrations feature chibi proportions and the distinctive sportswear of each school. Rackets resting on shoulders, Yukimura’s jacket draped like a cape and Shiraishi’s bandaged arm give each player a recognizable appearance. The silhouettes are printed on both sides and cut without a transparent border around the characters. Their round yellow and white bases evoke a tennis ball.
