The R-9A comes from the R-Type universe, a science-fiction shoot’em up series where R-Series ships fight the Bydo threat across hostile mechanical and organic environments. This model is one of the most iconic machines in the franchise, closely associated with the Force system attached to the front of the ship. This official R-9A plastic model kit by Plum measures approximately 25 cm long, is produced in 1/100 scale and is part of the Plastic Model Kit collection.

In R-Type, the R-9A represents the classic player combat craft, designed to move through areas filled with enemy fire, creatures and visual hazards. The Force module plays an essential role, acting both as protection and as an attack element that changes how battles are approached. The model kit reflects that identity through a long, technical silhouette built around the ship and its front module.

Visually, the R-9A features a mainly white and light gray hull, with a translucent purple cockpit placed near the center. At the front, the orange Force module is framed by two large white and gray mechanical arms marked with red bands. The top view clearly shows the stretched shape of the ship, its small red fins, rounded side volumes and the two orange circular elements placed on each side. The whole model keeps a horizontal display style that highlights its length and futuristic shooter-ship profile.
