PREORDER - My Neighbor Totoro - Catbus figure, Cristal Kumukumu

The Catbus, the unusual feline creature from My Neighbor Totoro, appears as a crystal puzzle figure from Beverly's Kumukumu line. Inspired by the world created by Hayao Miyazaki for Studio Ghibli, this assembly model recreates the famous forest spirit transportation creature using translucent and colored pieces. Once completed, it depicts the Catbus in a compact resting position on a small woodland-themed base.

In My Neighbor Totoro, the Catbus is a fantastical creature capable of carrying passengers through forests and the Japanese countryside. Equipped with numerous legs, windows along its sides and eyes that illuminate its path, it notably helps Satsuki search for her younger sister Mei. This Kumukumu puzzle allows its distinctive appearance to be gradually reconstructed by fitting together the different pieces forming its body, windows, face and surroundings. The translucent yellow and orange components evoke the Catbus's illuminated interior, while the brown pieces form its outer silhouette.

Once assembled, the figure depicts the Catbus with a rounded brown body, pointed ears and a wide grin revealing numerous white teeth. Its yellow eyes and translucent windows contrast with the opaque sections of its fur. Its many legs are folded beneath its body, while its tail extends to one side. The character rests on a green base with uneven sculpted details resembling grass and vegetation. The separate components shown include different body sections, window pieces, facial elements and the display base.
