The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Smaug bust

Smaug, the fearsome dragon from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, appears in this resin bust by Weta Workshop. Inspired by his appearance in Peter Jackson's film trilogy, this hand-painted reproduction stands approximately 36 cm tall and measures 46 cm wide. It focuses on the creature's head and elongated neck, capturing his dark red scales, numerous spikes and jaws lined with sharp teeth as seen in the adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's work.

In The Hobbit, Smaug is an enormous dragon who seized the Dwarven kingdom of Erebor after attacking the Lonely Mountain and driving out its inhabitants. Drawn by the wealth accumulated within its underground halls, he has guarded a vast treasure for decades, including the precious Arkenstone. When Bilbo Baggins enters his lair on behalf of Thorin Oakenshield and his company, he encounters a creature whose intelligence and arrogance are matched by his ability to manipulate others and inspire overwhelming fear. This bust recreates Smaug's design from The Desolation of Smaug, focusing on his reptilian head and distinctive anatomy.

The bust depicts Smaug with his head turned to the right, his jaws slightly open and his narrow eyes framed by the prominent ridges of his skull. His skin features shades of red, brown and black, with large overlapping scales covering the upper part of his head. Long horns and numerous dark spikes extend backward, while yellowish teeth protrude from his jaws. His elongated neck reveals a lighter surface with irregular textures, contrasting with the scales of his head. The sculpture is supported by a raised black mount attached to a multi-tiered oval display base.
