Bilbo Baggins is brought to life in this approximately 14 cm polystone statue by Weta Workshop, inspired by The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Digitally sculpted by Jorgelina Yeme, the piece captures the hobbit of Bag End at the moment he finally leaves the comfort of the Shire, holding the dwarves’ contract in one hand and a simple walking stick in the other.

This moment marks the true beginning of Bilbo’s journey alongside Thorin Oakenshield and his company. Still far removed from the seasoned traveller he will become, he steps toward a world of trolls, goblins, dragons and encounters that will shape the course of Middle-earth. Rather than focusing on action, Weta Workshop depicts the quieter turning point where Bilbo chooses to leave his peaceful life behind without yet understanding how important his adventure will become.

The promotional image shows Bilbo standing in front of an old wooden gate, resting lightly against his walking stick while the long unrolled contract hangs from his other hand. His green waistcoat, brown-toned ascot, cropped trousers and long burgundy coat recreate his appearance from the beginning of the film, with his travel bag visible behind him and his hobbit feet left bare.
