PREORDER - The Hobbit - Figure King goblins

The Goblin King is brought to life in this approximately 14 cm polystone statue by Weta Workshop, inspired by The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Digitally sculpted by Daniel Holland using production reference material from the film, the piece recreates the grotesque ruler of the goblins beneath the Misty Mountains, including his massive frame and the many disturbing details of his deformed anatomy.

In the film, the Goblin King rules over Goblin-town and its countless inhabitants deep beneath the mountains. Vain, cruel and highly theatrical, he captures Thorin Oakenshield and his company after they fall into his underground domain. Weta Workshop focuses on reproducing his diseased appearance, from the pale skin covered with bruised tones and growths to the bone crown and large skull-topped staff that symbolize his authority.

The promotional image shows him lumbering forward across a battered wooden platform, one arm hanging at his side while the other grips a gnarled staff decorated with a horned skull and small hanging trophies. His skin displays numerous variations in colour, lumps and scars, while the crown made from long bone-like spikes sits directly on his head. The base recreates an uneven arrangement of planks, rope and debris, mounted on a black plinth that frames the scene.
