PREORDER - The Ring - Sadako figure, Bishoujo

Sadako, the iconic vengeful spirit from the Japanese horror franchise Ring, joins Kotobukiya's Horror Bishoujo line with this official 17 cm figure at 1/7 scale. Based on an illustration by Shunya Yamashita, this interpretation reimagines the character in a bishoujo style while preserving her long black hair, white dress and the videotapes associated with her curse. Two interchangeable hair parts allow her face to be concealed or revealed, while magnetic tape strips can be arranged freely around the figure.

In Ring, Sadako Yamamura is a young woman with supernatural abilities whose tragic death gives rise to a curse transmitted through a mysterious videotape. Anyone who watches the recording receives a telephone call announcing their death in seven days unless they find a way to escape their fate. Having become one of the most recognizable figures in Japanese horror cinema, Sadako is particularly associated with her long hair covering her face and her unsettling emergence from a television screen. This Horror Bishoujo version recreates these elements in a composition designed by Shunya Yamashita. The set includes two interchangeable hair parts, replacement magnetic tape supplied in a special VHS-shaped case and an alternative "Horror" face part announced for Kotobukiya stores and official overseas distributors.

The figure depicts Sadako sitting on a pile of VHS tapes and black magnetic tape, with her legs folded close to her body. She wears a long white dress with soft fabric folds, while her bare feet emerge from beneath the material. Her exceptionally long black hair flows down her back in wavy strands, some ending in brownish tones. Several videotapes hang around her or are caught in her hair, while a strip of magnetic tape extends from her hand. Her curled-up posture and downward-facing head reinforce the unsettling atmosphere of this interpretation.
